Israeli ambassador confers with Wisconsin University to promote AI learning

The Israeli Ambassador to Ghana Shlomit Sufa has held bilateral talks with the management of the Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC-GH) at the Israel consulate in Accra.

The discussions centered on how the two groups can collaborate to advance cooperation between Wisconsin International University College, the Israeli government, and institutions in Israel.

Leading the delegation from Wisconsin International University College Ghana, the President Professor Obeng Mireku expressed Wisconsin University’s desire to ensure Ghana follows in the footsteps of Israel in promoting the use of Artificial Intelligence and medical training practice through quality teaching.

He was optimistic the firm foundation laid by the university as one of the leading IT, nursing, and midwifery training institutions in Ghana will attract the needed partnerships from Israel in order to enrich information technology and nursing practice in Ghana which he stressed is necessary in order to stem the tide of brain drain.

The Israeli Ambassador Shlomit Sufa on her part commended Wisconsin International University College for its contribution in the education sector towards enhancing the quality health practice and knowledge management through the teaching of Nursing, Midwifery, and Community Health practitioners.

The Ambassador was pleased Wisconsin was taking the first step to make Artificial Intelligence a part of Ghanaian existence and is hopeful with the required support it will achieve its goals. The Ambassador admonished the University to not relent on its cooperation and collaborative effort with foreign institutions in and beyond Africa, saying it is the surest way for the University to achieve greater excellence in education.

The Ambassador was optimistic her deliberation with the university management will yield immediate in areas of knowledge transfer, logistical support, and exchange programmes with public and private universities and organizations from her country.

Israel is renowned for its excellence in medical research, and Artificial Intelligence; areas that continue to capture the imagination and interest of entrepreneurs, investors, big business, and consumers alike.

Other members of the delegation from Wisconsin International University College, included the Chairman of the University Council, the Registrar, Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Finance Director, Director of International Affairs and Head of Public Affairs.
