Mother, son share AfrozonsDXB experience

Ryan was amongst the winners from Africa who converged in Dubai for the Afrobeat Safari Party on the desert. The gentleman who hails from Uganda was in the company of his mother, Esther, for six days following an all-expense-paid trip offer from The Dubai Tourism and its partners Afrozons and Rivexcel.

“Ryan, pack your bags; you are going to Dubai,” he heard while listening to 97FM Radiocity.

Recounting how it happened, Ryan said: “I heard the beep which signaled the activation was about to start on radio, so I immediately called into the radio show, I was waiting in line because someone was already on-air and ahead of me; but the person got the question posed to him wrong and this gave me a chance to answer the next question and viola, I got it right," he recounted.

His eyes lit up as he narrated how he landed his free ticket to Dubai. His win required him to come with another person and he chose his mother.

“I am in Dubai now for the first time and I get to enjoy this experience with my mom,” he said.

He further stated that his mom was even more shocked and wondered whether this was even true because to her, it sounded too good to be true that one wins a ticket to Dubai on a radio show.

Both mother and son could not hide their excitement as they enjoyed all benefits promised to them in Dubai including the Expo visit, meeting other colleagues and friends to network, the safari party, the various tour packages, etc., and also used the opportunity to bond.
