Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the press, we're very grateful for honouring our invitation to all this important press conference of the NPP YOUTH OF BIBIANI ANHWIASO BEKWAI CONSTITUENCY.

Ladies and gentlemen, this press conference has become imperative because of the happenings and meddling of chiefs (Omanhene) in the affairs of the party in the constituency.

According to article 276 of the 1992 constitution, chiefs are barred from active politics, but that is not the case in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai constituency. In our jurisdiction, the Omanhene (Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi) is the one who wants to determine who becomes the MP and the MCE in our constituency.

This is the man who traces his root to NDC, in 1996, during the electioneering campaign, he barred president Kufour from entering his palace and went to the extent of charging the then constituency executives to provide 6 rams and schnapps to pacify his stool and the gods, simply because President Kufour went to his palace.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, it is on record that, it was the former MP( Hon. Christopher Addae who brought the Omanhene Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi to NPP but in the end he the Omanhene ended up undermined him. In 2016, he disgraced Hon. Christopher Addae in the presence of the then-candidate Akufo Addo at his palace because of his nephew Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, it will interest you to know that our Omanhene who we Revere and adore so much as the overlord of the land has now left his enviable position as the custodian of the land and culture and now ventured into active politics by trying to determine who should become the MP and MCE of our constituency.

In the run-up to our primaries to select a candidate to represent the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai constituency, the Omanhene was actively involved, he led a committee of chiefs to go run to campaign for his nephew Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu as against Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng. One thought that was the end, but the worse was to come.

Ladies and gentlemen, after the primaries, the Omanhene who prides himself as a Blue-blooded NPP member, ordered all his sub-chiefs in the Anhwiaso traditional area not to allow the then NPP candidate ( Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng) to campaign in their communities, those who dared allowed the candidate to campaign in their communities were either distooled or expelled from going to his palace. Notable among them is Nana Dwantoahe of Murano and Nana Mensah of Aboduabo.

Ladies and gentlemen, it took the intervention of national and regional executives before the Omanhene allowed candidate Alfred Obeng Boateng to campaign freely in his area of jurisdiction. Even with this, the Omanhene was part of a syndicate made up of the former MP, the current MCE, some constituency executives who were preaching skirt and blouse against Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng. The Omanhene was heard openly heaping praises on the NDC candidate Stephen Donkor as against the NPP candidate Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, this is the man (Omanhene) who wants to select MCE for us in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai. He is fighting so hard to make sure that the current MCE who never campaign for the party nor the MP is retained and we the grassroots say over our dead body. This MCE did not only campaign but was on radio insulting the current MP of which we have evidence.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, we're by this press conference sending caution and for that matter warning to the national executives, the chiefs of staff, the majority leader, the national vetting committee, the vice president and the president that, if they don't seek the opinion of our MP in the selection of the MCE, but rather allow the Omanhene to determine our MCE for us then, they should be prepared to face the worse in the constituency come 2024. We can assure you that nobody will go out and campaign in 2024. This press conference is the first caution, we're going to follow it up with a mammoth demonstration next week.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press we thank you very much for honouring our invitation.
