SDTA Awards throws 75th birthday party for Fred Amugi

Fred Nii Amugi was recently showered with a surprise 75th birthday party by Supreme Dynamic Talent Academy Awards, hosted at the luxurious D’avenue Boutique Hotel.

It was a celebration for the beloved, nationally celebrated legendary actor, who was bestowed a Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award in Film in 2022, by Supreme Dynamic Talent Academy Awards. Amugi was showered with attention and love to mark the occasion of his 75th birthday.

His birthday was celebrated especially, immediately after the grand press launch of the Global and Prestigious SDTA AWARDS 2023.

The star-studded and industry players-studded event had the attendance of actor, Prince David Osei - the Brand Ambassador of SDTA AWARDS, film producer - Enoch Attakorah, music producer - Mix Master Garzy, film producer & C.E.O of Venus Films - Abdul Salam Mumuni, International Youth Network for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 - HRH Prof. Dr Cheaib, sctress Akumaa Mama Zimbi, Cameroonian musician - Naomi Achu, who flew in from the United States, the chairperson of SDTA Awards - Hon. Zino Lexili Ogazi, etc.

On his arrival with a big smile, he was immediately greeted by a waiting crowd that ushered him inside.

During his birthday party, he lovingly told memorable tales about his career Journey.

Making a speech during his birthday party, he said he was grateful for the outpouring of love shown to him by the SDTA Awards Organization and that it meant a lot to him on so many different levels.

Fred Amugi also was surrounded by SDTA Awards Organizers, SDTA AWARDS Advisory Board members, his manager, his family and some fans, many of whom had traveled distances to show him support and love.

The party included a grand entrance featuring a cultural dance troupe, remarks from organization leadership, meet-and-greet time a cake-cutting ceremony, and more.

“Sir Fred has exemplified a long and impactful career in artistic Supremacy and SDTA Awards is a firm believer in Celebrating a person's life, Honoring their Contributions and accomplishments in their career, while they are still alive, and giving them their flowers while they can still smell them. As humans, we need far more celebrations of life than death. As our SDTA Awards 2022 Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award in Film recipient, we hope to express our deepest gratitude for being a part of his extraordinary story and we hope he feels that he is appreciated as we celebrate his birthday,” said Hon. Zino, SDTA Awards, young Chairperson.”



ABOUT SUPREME LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award, first presented in 2021 by SDTA AWARDS, is the highest of honor that the SDTA AWARDS bestows annually, to celebrate the career of deserving Artistes, Creatives, Talents (both locally and internationally ) and people from all walks of life, for a “lifetime” of significant achievements and significant contributions to the society. People who puts ‘service above self’, have achieved significant professional stature and influence, who have a commendable, trailblazing body of work, and who have used their experiences and skills to help others advance in their field.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is granted annually by a selection committee, whose decision is based on four criteria: the recipient must be a person of influence, a person of exceptional accomplishment, a person of exemplary character, and a person of endurance.

The Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award is a recognition reserved for those who have notable achievements and lifelong contributions in their field and the society.

A panel composed of Selection Committee, Advisory Board and the Academy, present nominations and selects awardees. The distinguished honor is awarded annually at the SDTA Awards Gala, and recipients earn the title of “Sir or Lady” as a sign of respect for the recipient. The recipients are presented with the SDTA AWARDS Iconic Black & Golden plaque, a citation, a brooch, and lifetime membership to the Supreme league of SDTA Awards Advisory Board.

Fred Nii Amugi began his acting career in 1970 in Drama and Documentaries until 1985 when he starred in his first movie "Opinto", the television series brought him into the limelight.

Fred Amugi's career is highlighted by starring in the following Ghanian movies; Shoe Shine Boy (2013), Nyame Bekyere 1&2 (2015), Menua Paa Nie (2016), Housekeepers (2016) among others.

His first international role came in 2005 when he played the character Kwame Attakora in the BBC drama Holby City.

He later starred in Netflix 2015 movie, Beasts of No Nation as "Pastor".

Amugi played the character Pastor Uchebo in the 2015 British award-winning movie "The Cursed.
