85-year-old bridge poses risk to Denkyembour residents

Residents of several towns in Ghana's Eastern Region are alarmed over the deteriorating condition of an 85-year-old bridge, calling it a death trap that urgently needs repair or replacement.

Despite appeals, the Denkyembour District lacks funds for a new bridge, though rehabilitation work by the Ghana Highways Authority has begun.

MP Henry Boakye Yiadom has pledged to address the issue. Commuters and drivers advocate for a full reconstruction rather than temporary fixes to ensure safety.
