A/R: Sokoban wood workers devastated by fire, seek support from NDC, NPP

Woodworkers at Sokoban Wood Village in the Ashanti Region are devastated after a fire on October 3 destroyed 18 sheds, leaving many with significant losses.

The traders, who rely solely on their businesses, now face difficulties repaying bank loans and supporting their families.

The fire affected shops dealing mainly in plywood, but no casualties were reported.

Fire authorities are investigating the cause.

Some affected workers, speaking to Channel One News, expressed their desperation and urged any political party or group to assist them, as the incident has disrupted their livelihoods and children's education.
