To mark his 46th birthday, Majority Leader and MP for Effutu Constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has screened over 200 inmates and 300 officers for Hepatitis B in Effutu Prisons.
Collaborating with Mumbies Foundation, he dedicated May 27 as Hepatitis B Awareness Day. Afenyo-Markin also provided meals, a 50-inch TV, and relief items to inmates.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Kassim Zubairu, emphasized the importance of protecting inmates from Hepatitis B.
Project Director Israel Adorbley highlighted their goal to eradicate the disease in the constituency, while Assistant Director of Prisons ADP Joseph Nyankey praised the initiative's life-saving potential.
