Akosombo dam spillage: Mepe residents demand compensation, housing for flood victims

Residents of Mepe in the North Tongu District are demanding immediate compensation and proper housing for those affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage, which occurred over 10 months ago.

They expressed frustration over the government's inaction and urged for the completion of a 20-unit housing project in the area.

With the Volta River Authority (VRA) planning another water spill, residents are concerned about the potential impact on already saturated soil and are calling for careful measures.

They also requested infrastructure improvements, including better access roads and drainage systems, to mitigate future flood risks.
