Akufo-Addo cuts sod for Accra-Tema Motorway expansion project

The Accra-Tema motorway, a key route connecting Tema's industrial hub to Accra, is set for a major upgrade after nearly 60 years of service.

President Akufo-Addo announced plans to transform it into a 10-lane highway, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety.

The 27.7-kilometer project, to be completed in three phases, will include road rehabilitation, interchange reconstruction, and new toll plazas.

Undertaken by a Ghanaian company through a public-private partnership, the project symbolizes local enterprise growth and a step towards a modern, well-connected Ghana. The President urged timely and budget-conscious completion.
