A family, backed by residents and a youth group in Keta, Volta Region, is urging the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to investigate the death of Jerry Kpesenu, who died in police custody.
Allegations suggest Kpesenu was manhandled and murdered by police after his arrest.
The group demands the interdiction of involved officers, an independent autopsy, and the inclusion of family and youth representatives in the investigation.
The incident began when Kpesenu stopped a tenant from installing an air conditioner, leading to a police complaint and his subsequent arrest. Police claim Kpesenu fell ill and died at the hospital.
