Anum Traditional Council suspends Adontenhene

The Anum Traditional Council in the Asuogyaman District, Eastern Region, led by Okusiako Brempong Kumi Sasraku VIII, has suspended Okogyeaman Akwasi Anyane, the Adontenhene, for allegedly sabotaging development efforts.

The decision was made during an emergency meeting at the Ahui-Kpoomo Palace, where traditional rites were performed to formalize the suspension.

Okusiako Brempong Kumi Sasraku VIII cited the Adontenhene's conduct as contrary to traditional norms despite multiple warnings.

Some sub-chiefs and divisional chiefs condemned the Adontenhene's actions, urging an end to resistance against development.

Okogyeaman Akwasi Anyane has denied the accusations and defended his contributions to local development.
