Collapsed mining pit kills 3 at Apenaman

Three persons have died after a mining pit collapsed on them at Denkyembour district of the Eastern region.

The three miners were trapped to death.

The incident occurred at Apenaman, today, Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Assemblyman of Apenaman Electoral Area, Hon. John Boakye told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that the unfortunate occurred in his absence, but he managed to rush back home upon receiving a distress call.

He then led a rescue team with the help of the police and other stakeholders.

The bodies were retrieved and deposited at the morgue, pending further investigations.
