Two individuals lost their lives in the ongoing Bawku conflict after unidentified assailants ambushed their truck.
One victim was a Mamprusi, and the other was a Togolese national who had come to Bawku to care for his ailing father, who passed away during their visit.
They were en route to Togo with the body when the attack occurred.
The Bawku conflict, driven by longstanding chieftaincy disputes and ethnic tensions, has escalated recently, with the return of a rival chief sparking renewed violence.
Despite security forces' efforts to restore peace, violence continues, raising the death toll in the conflict to 19.
