Dormaa youth arrest over 10 ‘galamseyers’

Youth in Dormaa Ahenkro have arrested over 10 illegal miners as part of a community-led initiative to combat illegal mining, or galamsey.

This action, supported by Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu, aims to protect the environment and local livelihoods.

Dr. Agyemang Badu has consistently opposed galamsey and vowed to back efforts to stop the activity in his area.

Those arrested have been handed over to the police for investigation and prosecution, reflecting the community's growing resolve to safeguard their lands from environmental harm.
