Eastern region: Tensions high at Anweaso over disappearance of 25-year-old woman

The Muslim community in Anweaso, Eastern Region, is on edge after the mysterious disappearance of 25-year-old Danjuma Laliatu.

She went missing following a confrontation on October 7, 2024, with Kwadwo Ahenfie over a farm boundary dispute.

After returning home with injuries from the altercation, Laliatu left again to retrieve belongings from her farm but never returned.

Although Ahenfie was arrested by police, he was released the same day, leading to anger among Laliatu’s family and community.

Family members are calling for intervention from the Inspector General of Police to ensure a thorough investigation into her disappearance.
