Fire Service ‘rescues’ young woman from flyover at Kwame Nkrumah Interchange

On Thursday, July 25, Ghana Fire Service personnel rescued a young woman named Alima from between the piers and deck of the Kwame Nkrumah interchange flyover.

Witnesses were unsure how Alima got there, with some speculating she intended to jump off the flyover.

Fire service personnel safely rescued her, and she was handed over to the National Ambulance Service for a medical check.

Alima revealed she was living at the overpass with a man, who she claimed sent her there and had been sexually abusing her.

After receiving food and care, she was discharged from the hospital and provided with money before being asked to leave.
