Authorities have removed hawkers from the newly inaugurated Flower Pot Interchange in Accra following public criticism over their presence just a day after the project’s launch.

The operation, led by Greater Accra Regional Minister Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, aims to preserve the interchange's purpose and appearance.

However, vendors expressed frustration, claiming they were promised a designated space to continue their trade.

Sandra Korkor, a vendor, noted they had operated at the location for decades, citing agreements with previous administrations.

Korkor also lamented taking loans to expand her business, hoping for government support, but now faces eviction without alternative arrangements.

Another vendor, Selassie Nkansah, appealed for relocation assistance, stressing the financial challenges of supporting his family.
