The Ajumako Enyan Essiam branch of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has called on President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to expedite funding for completing the Ajumako old market renovation.
Branch Chairman Albert Opare Essel highlighted the negative impact of prolonged renovations on traders and urged the government to prioritize original stall occupants when allocating renovated spaces.
Central Regional GUTA Chairman Paul Kofi McCarthy also appealed for affordable access to capital for traders, criticizing high-interest rates that burden businesses. He assured financial institutions of prompt repayments if loans are made more accessible.
The appeals were made during the branch's inauguration, where leaders stressed the need for swift action to address traders' challenges.
