Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive Yaw Owusu Addo has blamed recent flooding in Nkawkaw on illegal mining and construction in waterways.

The torrential rain left many residents homeless in areas like Nkawkaw Amanfrom, ECOWAS, Mission, Kwaku Dwira, and Asaase Aban Junction.

He promised a demolition exercise to prevent future occurrences and warned residents not to drink from their wells due to contamination from the heavy rain, which poses a risk of cholera and other waterborne diseases.
