Gunmen attack student transport, burn vehicle and driver

Gunmen attacked a passenger car transporting students from Kongo SHS to Bolga, forcing them to disembark before setting the vehicle and driver ablaze.

The incident, allegedly linked to the ongoing Bawku chieftaincy dispute, has heightened fears in the region.

The long-standing conflict between rival factions in Bawku has led to recent escalations, causing deaths and property destruction.

In response, the government has deployed military forces and imposed a curfew, while the Ghana Police have launched an investigation. Concerns over civilian safety, especially for students, are growing amid the unrest.
