The Osu Traditional Council has lifted the ban on drumming and noisemaking, marking the start of the Homowo Festival celebrations.
The ban, in place since May 10, was lifted after customary rites were performed.
Homowo, meaning "hooting at hunger," is a Ga festival preceded by a month-long ban to emphasize agricultural activities and prayers for prosperity.
The council, speaking on May 31, urged moderate celebrations and respectful behavior until the festival concludes.
Nii Nortey Adumuah Osiahene IV invited both citizens and non-citizens to participate in the festivities, emphasizing ongoing rituals in preparation for Homowo.
