Kpone Presby basic school needs borehole – Headteacher

Mr. Daniel Obodai, Head Teacher of the Kpone Presby ‘A’ Basic School has appealed to organisations, individuals, and old students to help construct a borehole to ensure frequent water supply in the school.

Mr. Obodai speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Kpone said even though the school had been provided with a wash station by the Unilever Ghana Foundation, it does not have water for the effective management of the facility.

He said getting the borehole was urgent as the school currently spends a lot of money to purchase water from tankers into storage every three weeks to one month.

He added that the 574 pupils together with the staff of the school need a constant flow of water for proper hygiene especially for the girls during their menstrual period and proper handwashing.

Touching on other challenges of the school, he said security was a big problem as miscreants had been breaking into the school to steal adding that they had recorded two of such incidents this year.

Mr. Obodai observed that even though the school had written to the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly to assist it with some street lights to help illuminate the school, their plea was yet to materialise.

He indicated that the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) of the school has promised to get the school a night security officer to put an end to the break-ins.
