Residents of Community 22 in Ashaiman are grieving after 46-year-old carpenter Kwesi Yobo Dankwa was killed when beams of an uncompleted building collapsed.
Four others were rescued and taken to Tema General Hospital.
Dankwa had been called to work on the building for the first time that morning.
The rescue was executed by local residents, the Ghana National Fire Service, NADMO, and the police.
Authorities are investigating the collapse, which some residents believe was exacerbated by recent heavy rains. The deceased's family is devastated, having initially hoped for his survival.
