Mortuaries, funeral agency reacts to viral video of Asante Akyem mourners carrying corpse

The Mortuaries and Funeral Facilities Agency (MoFFA) has strongly condemned a viral video showing youths in Asante Akyem mishandling a corpse during funeral rites by carrying it on their shoulders without a coffin.

MoFFA labeled such actions as disrespectful and undignified, highlighting their violation of public health and safety standards and legal statutes.

As the regulatory body overseeing funeral practices, MoFFA emphasized its commitment to promoting responsible and dignified funeral ceremonies across Ghana.

The Agency called on the public to report similar incidents and uphold respectful traditions in honoring the deceased.
