Kinderhulp Ghana, a Netherlands-based charitable organization, has funded the construction of a GHS98,000 eight-classroom block for the Nkranketewa African Faith Primary School in the Sunyani West District of Bono Region.
It has additionally made available 150 dual desks, teachers’ tables and chairs to aid effective teaching and learning
The new school building replaces an old structure that collapsed, in May, this year, leaving a number of children hurt.
Mr. Hans Voortman, Board Member of the Kinderhulp Ghana, handing over the building at a ceremony, said his organization would continue to support efforts at improving educational infrastructure in the deprived communities.
They were determined to assist create the right environment for teaching and learning.
He applauded the teachers for their selflessness and sense of duty amid challenging conditions in the school.
Mr. Solomon Boateng, the Director of the Heart for Children Foundation Ghana, an Nsoatre-based NGO, engaged in humanitarian services, expressed the hope that the teachers would be inspired by the assistance to give it their all to raise the academic performance of the school.
He appealed to the District to prioritize education – do more to ensure that there was access and there was quality.
Mr. Elvis Boateng, the head teacher, said they were grateful to the NGO for the support.
