Power has been restored to Kumasi City Market after a two-day blackout caused by unpaid arrears of over GH₵7 million.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) reconnected the market after receiving a significant payment and a plan to clear the remaining debt.

This isn’t the first disconnection over payment issues.

Market leaders are urging traders to settle their bills to avoid future problems.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Kumasi Traders is calling for the removal of the person responsible for installing meters, citing poor performance.
