The unionized associations of Tamale Technical University (TaTU) have demanded that the Governing Council appoint a new Vice Chancellor from within the university.
Representing TUTAG, TUSAAG, TUAAG, and TUWAG, the associations praised the council's swift action in forming a search committee but emphasized that internal candidates, familiar with the university's values and culture, should be prioritized.
They argue that this aligns with the precedent in Ghanaian public universities and will best serve the institution's interests.
The unions reject any move to appoint an external candidate and urge the council to demonstrate decisive leadership.
