Tree kills 2 women during heavy rains at Nkyeraa

Two women, Maame Yaa Awua (65) and Georgina Opoku (67), tragically died after a tree fell on them during a heavy rainstorm in Nkyeraa, Bono Region, on Saturday.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. during a Yam Festival at the Nkyeraa Methodist School Park.

As the rain intensified, the women, along with others including Dormaahene Dr. Agyeman Badu, sought shelter.

However, strong winds brought down a tree, killing the women instantly.

Their bodies have been taken to the Nkyeraa Hospital mortuary.
