Volta Regional Fire Commander appeals for support to repair aging equipment

Joy Ameyibor Ayim, Deputy Volta Regional Chief Fire Officer, is seeking urgent support to repair and replace outdated fire tenders and equipment.

He highlighted frequent breakdowns of current vehicles and the need for additional resources, including motorbikes and pick-ups, to improve fire prevention and response across the region.

Ayim acknowledged the government’s efforts but emphasized the necessity of support from corporate entities and residents to enhance the fire service’s capabilities.

He praised local mechanics for maintaining existing equipment and reaffirmed the fire service's commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
