Wa West: Peter Toobu calls for peace as three die in communal conflict

Wa West MP Peter Lanchene Toobu has called for peace between Lassia-Tuolu and Kendeu communities after clashes left three dead and several injured.

The violence erupted over traditional practices, prompting multiple arrests and increased security.

In his June 16 statement, Toobu praised security forces for their quick response and urged both sides to embrace peaceful conflict resolution.

He extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a swift recovery for the injured, emphasizing the need to unite against poverty and underdevelopment.

He also cautioned the media against spreading misinformation to prevent further conflict.
