The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council plans to install 25,000 solar-powered street lights across the region to improve night visibility and reduce crime.
The initiative, announced by Regional Minister Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, follows previous phases of 10,000 and 20,000 lights distributed in 2022 and 2023.
The project will include pilot solar lighting on key routes like the Tema Motorway and major roads in Accra.
The effort aims to enhance safety and address complaints from residents and motorists about poor road lighting.
