Yagbonwura embarks on a historic visit to Yaa Naa’s Palace

His Royal Majesty Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I, Overlord of Gonjaland, will visit Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II, in Yendi on June 23.

This historic visit marks the first time an Overlord of Gonjaland has visited an Overlord of Dagbon.

Residents expressed hope that the visit will foster unity and strengthen bonds between Dagombas and Gonjas, promoting peaceful coexistence. The kingdoms, though neighboring, have never had such a royal visit.

Dagbon and Gonja have well-defined land boundaries, with Dagbon sharing borders with Gonja in the East Gonja and Central Gonja Districts.
