Hearts Sack 14 Players

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has decided not to renew the registration of 14 players for the 2004 football season while six others are to be released to their mother clubs.

A press release issued to the GNA sports on Thursday and signed by Mr Thomas Okine, Chairman of the IMC of the club named the 14 players as Joe Ansah, Kenneth Sarpong, Charles Allotey, William Gbedzeke, Ibrahim Kluvie, Edmund Copson, Agyeman Dua, Awudu Adama, Philip Kutsu, Laud Quartey, Emmanuel Donkor, Richard Nii Noi, Stephen Tetteh and Osumanu Amadu.

According to the release, Kojo Peace, Alex Antwi and Gabriel Kwarteng are to be released to their mother club, Seven United so as not to blunt their potentials.

Masawudu Mumuni, Frank Quao and Frank Twum who joined Hearts on loan are also to be released to their clubs in conformity with the provisions of the Ghana Football Association.

The release said two youngsters, David Kuddah and Azumah Nelson are to be seconded to Auroras to enable them go through the mill to be adequately prepared for the future.

Meanwhile the release said the club has already initiated steps to secure the permanent transfer of Emmanuel Osei, Adnan Ali, Ablade Morgan, Daniel Coleman and Nasiru Ganni from their respective clubs.

The IMC Chairman said the club was mindful of the financial implications and will be financially prudent in the recruitments and gave the assurance that with a few possible recruitments, the full compliments of the squad for PHOBIA 2004 will be publicized.

The release meanwhile has asked all players not mentioned in the transfer and release of players are to report for training immediately and that the IMC will take drastic action against any player who fails to comply with the directive.

It said the IMC will meet the retained players on Friday January 2, 2004 and that it wishes every football loving fan a Happy New year.
