Liverpool signed the centre half Godwin Antwi from Real Zaragoza in August 2005, and was in the reserve team squad for the 2005/06 season.
Antwi can play at either centre-back or central midfield. He made his debut in August 2005 playing for the reserves as a striker in a mini-derby with Everton, due to a striker shortage.
Antwi becomes the first player from Ghana to represent Liverpool. Godwin Antwi was spotted by Liverpool's Director of scouting Paco Herrera and is highly rated.
Progress Report: Godwin Antwi has been playing in the Liverpoool reserves. He is a strong boy and has showed his versatility this season for the reserves. His position is centre half but because of the competition for places in that department in the reserves squad he has played centre forward and right back
2009: Where is he now? After guiding Liverpool to the 2006 FA Youth Cup, he was shipped out on loan to Accrington, Hartlepool, Tranmere and Hereford before being released by Benitez.
