Absa Bank Partners Tidal Rave Festival To Ignite The Dreams Of 100 Young Entrepreneurs

Tidal Rave Festival has announced a new collaboration with Absa Bank to provide support to one hundred young entrepreneurs.

Among other things, the collaboration comes with Absa Bank making a commitment to cover 20% of the entrepreneur onboarding cost for all entrepreneurs at the 10th edition of Tidal Rave Festival in Ghana.

Tidal Rave Festival, is a well-known youth cultural festival, described as the biggest beach event in West Africa. Over the years, the festival has built a sturdy base of young entrepreneurs whose innovative businesses cater to the festival’s attendees during and after the festival.

The festival is also known for curating a vendor village where entrepreneurs exhibit and market their various products and services at the festival grounds.

This year’s festival, which will be held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on the 4th of November 2023, will also serve as a platform for the young entrepreneurs to attract and grow a new customer community, with an added networking opportunity.

With tens of thousands of Ravers expected to attend this year’s festival which will include various performing artists, DJs, MCs, influencers, young professionals, and young adults, this collaboration between Tidal Rave Festival and Absa Bank is projected to increase the impact on young entrepreneurs.

“Our collaboration with Absa Bank demonstrates our collective commitment to fostering a thriving business environment for young people who want to start their own businesses,” the curators of Tidal Rave Festival said in a statement.

In a statement on the partnership with organisers of the Festival, the Head of Deposits, Retail and SME, Mr. Lawson Tornyi expressed Absa Bank’s commitment to support Ghanaian youth through various initiatives such as the Absa Ignition, a solution designed to offer banking services to youngsters with an Absa Junior Account, an Ignition Student Account for students at the tertiary levels. Absa has also partnered with the Mastercard Foundation to offer a 10% SME loan to young entrepreneurs to grow and take their businesses to the next level. Both solutions are designed to provide financial empowerment and inspire entrepreneurial development among young people
“In collaboration with Tidal Rave Festival, this year, Absa is poised to ignite the dreams of 100 young entrepreneurs by providing them with access to financial services and mentorship” Mr Lawson said.

“We believe that young entrepreneurs are the catalyst in Ghana’s economic growth, and this unique partnership provides an avenue to champion their dreams.
Absa has thus, committed to cover 20% of the vendor stand cost at Tidal Rave Festival”, he maintained.
“The Tidal Rave Festival brings together a vibrant community of innovative, hardworking, and enthusiastic young entrepreneurs as well as fun-loving young people across Ghana. Absa’s partnership with the organisers of the festival also offers a unique platform for the youth to display their entrepreneurial talent.

We call on young people and entrepreneurs to take full advantage the Ignition Account and the 10% loan for SMEs to scale up their businesses and explore new growth opportunities”.

As anticipation for Tidal Rave Festival grows, so does enthusiasm for the unique potential and benefits that this strategic partnership will bring for all participating entrepreneurs.

About Tidal Rave Festival:
Since 2012, the Tidal Rave Festival has come to represent what Spring Break is for young West Africans.
Built on a road trip, experiences, and concert, the event is the biggest youth event across West Africa, with appearances in Ghana and Liberia.

As a youth cultural pillar, Tidal Rave Festival has broken old youth experience norms and created a new path for young people by consistently building beyond the passion points of young Africans.
The focus, historically, has been to leverage touchpoints (music, fashion, dance, technology, and others) to connect and build a community that continues to challenge the festival to do more and be more.
