Academic City organises Business and Entrepreneurship Fair to empower youth

Academic City University College has organised its first-ever Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair, which was a remarkable display of creativity and entrepreneurial skills.

The fair, organised by the first and second-year students of the Fundamentals of Innovation and Entrepreneurship course (FIE), served as a unique platform for students to showcase their projects.

It connected them with the broader community, and provided essential exposure for the development of their ventures.

The FIE course is an innovative workshop-based programme designed to empower students by equipping them with essential entrepreneurial skills. Amidst the increasing unemployment rates in Ghana, which are expected to reach 592,000 by 2024, FIE stands out as a guiding light. It equips students with the necessary skills not only to search for employment opportunities but to also establish their own businesses.

The fair, a culmination of the FIE course, showcased a wide range of start-up ventures and brought together participants from the Academic City community, members of the Ghanaian entrepreneurship community, as well as family and friends of the exhibitors.

The projects showcased a wide range of impactful initiatives, demonstrating the diverse skills developed through the FIE course. Visitors actively interacted with the exhibitors, creating a conducive atmosphere for sharing ideas and inspiring each other.

Speaking at the fair, Ms. Vida Zumanu, Coordinator of the FIE course, expressed her excitement about the success of the fair and its positive impact on the students. She added, "We believe that the fair will serve as a great source of inspiration for the younger generation, encouraging them to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career path."

The fair highlights Academic City's commitment to fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among its students. The university is at the forefront of empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs through innovative educational programmes such as the FIE course.
