The Penkwaase Business Centre of Asa Savings and Loans as part of activities to create awareness among the general public on breast cancer, hosted a free breast cancer screening for women in the area.
The Centre, which falls under the Sunyani Area of Asa Savings and Loans held the screening exercise to also sensitize women on the need to maintain their breast health.
The exercise, which took place on the October 23, 2023, was also to enable participant women to seek treatment in case of any detected anomaly during the screening exercise.
In all, out of the 135 women were screened and were given education on the need to regularly check their breast to prevent any unforeseen situation.
Area Manager of Asa Savings and Loans at Sunyani, Mr Isaac Kwesi Agyapong, indicated that the event is one of the company’s numerous corporate social responsibility activities which takes place annually.
“We have always been part of this initiative which has been running over the years to get rid of breast cancer in our society. This is one of the gestures that show how we care about our clientele” he said.
A Senior Health Promotion Officer at the Sunyani Regional Hospital, Madam Rita Oppong Yeboah, advised the women to be aware of their health and consider breast screening as a key part of maintaining good breast health.
