Asa Savings & Loans sponsors free breast cancer screening at Obuasi


ASA Savings and Loans, a leading non-bank financial institution in collaboration with Obuasi Government Hospital has screened traders at the Obuasi Central Market to mark this year’s breast cancer awareness month.

The exercise was aimed at creating awareness on the cancer and ensure early detection to avoid untimely deaths.

The branch manager of the company at Obuasi, Mr Frank Nii-Quaye said, the significance of giving back to customers and society at large cannot be underestimated.

The Area Manager of the company, Mr Samuel Odame Sekyi, made it clear that the company has the health of women especially at heart and will continual empower women financially and health wise.

“We have brought the screening exercise to the doorstep of where the ply their trade, as individuals often neglect their health due to various commitments” he added.
The participants expressed their joy at being part of such a thoughtful initiative amidst dancing to music at the event grounds.

The head of the medical team from Obuasi government hospital, Ramatu Ibrahim, disclosed that at the end of the event, 110 women were screened out of which 12 were referred to go for mammogram. She also commended the initiative displayed by the company to supporting the well-being of their customers and entire populace.



Richard Nartey, the CSR Manager of the company said, beyond the business aspect, ASA Savings recognize the importance of creating a positive and memorable experience for everyone. This is being carried out in 10 regions across the country and we target to reach out to about 4000 women before the end of month.
