In a trendsetting partnership, Engen Ghana and Prudential Life Insurance Ghana have joined forces to offer exclusive advantages to Engen's valued customers.
This strategic partnership is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative from Engen Ghana that is geared towards reinforcing the organization’s commitment to its mission, which is - to maintain operational excellence within a culture of innovation, safety and environmental consciousness.
As part of this initiative, mechanics, trotro and taxi drivers spending up to 150 GHS on fuel now have the opportunity to enroll in the Mekakrawa Microinsurance Policy, a special promotion crafted to reward Engen Ghana's loyal patrons while ensuring the security and peace of mind associated with Prudential's trusted insurance policy, Mekakrawa. The inaugural promotion is scheduled for November 22nd, 2023, at the Babona Filling Station at McCarthy Hill.
In a recent meeting between both organizations at the Prudential Life Insurance Ghana’s head office, Dr. Hazel Berrard Amuah, the CEO of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana reiterated the importance of insurance for all Ghanaians because it protects people against undesired unexpected risks like critical illness, death, and permanent disability.
She highlighted Prudential's commitment to listening to their customers, understanding clients' needs and delivering excellent service. She also stressed the intent of collaborating with the Engen brand more in the future for other projects that are geared towards giving back to Ghanaians.
Present at this meeting was also Peter Edem Adjei, the Chief Operations Officer of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana. Peter emphasized Prudential’s expanding market share, and the organization’s dedication to processing claims on time to ensure satisfaction of their customers.
In addressing the crucial issue of customer satisfaction, in Peter’s words, “we try as much as possible to gauge how our customers perceive us. We do a monthly promoter score to see who our promoters are, those who are passive, what is making them passive, who are we not satisfying, and their pain points to address these things because they are the people who actually keep us in business”.
Brent Nartey, Managing Director of Engen Ghana, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, praising Prudential's dedication to community care, which aligns with Engen's core values.
“This partnership aims to provide essential coverage for mechanics, taxi and trotro drivers in the event of death, permanent disability, or critical illness, addressing the economic challenges faced by drivers” he said. In the course of his address, he continued by saying, “As we wrap up our 25th anniversary celebrations, we want to be able to give back to our loyal customers in an impactful way. We also want to use this as an opportunity to give them an early Christmas gift as we end the year. Our initial commitment is to support 150 people, however, I'm sure that as the months go by and as our business improves, we will be able to increase the number that we support as far as this project is concerned."
Brent also applauded Pulse Ghana for the role they played in facilitating the partnership between Engen Ghana and Prudential Life Insurance Ghana. He concluded his remarks with a mantra the Engen Ghana brand lives by “The best way of living is giving”.
Colette Amaeshi, Managing Director of Pulse Ghana, commended the impactful partnership for its societal impact and commitment to giving back. She said, “As a media and marketing agency, amplifying initiatives like this gives us so much joy because it's a way of giving back to society as well, and it also highlights companies that are very intentional about giving back to society.”
Colette used the opportunity to encourage more brands operating within Ghana to join the CSR initiative, as the need for insurance within the informal sector cannot be overemphasized.
