Thanks to alerts and precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance (DGST), a German-Egyptian national who was planning terrorist attacks in Germany, including a ram truck attack, was identified and neutralized.
The services of the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance (DGST) continue to shine in Morocco and internationally. This is how, on Tuesday October 24, and thanks to the precious and decisive help of the Moroccan security services, the police in Essen, in western Germany, were able to put a dangerous terrorist out of action.
He is a German-Egyptian national, named Tarik SS, aged 29 and established in Duisburg. A former fighter within Daesh terrorist organization in Syria and Iraq, the individual was behind various terrorist projects that he planned to execute on German soil. These include a planned attack using a ram truck, an informed source tells us.
The Moroccan security and intelligence services, led by Abdellatif Hammouchi, throughout September and October 2023 alerted their German counterparts to the identity and profile of the German-Egyptian terrorist, transmitting to them personal data, photographs and contact details of the accused.
A major contribution therefore, which adds to the numerous contributions of the DGST having made it possible to abort terrorist projects outside national borders and to neutralize a good number of supporters of religious extremism and the terrorist movement. This confirms, once again, that Moroccan services are an indispensable player in the international fight against terrorism.
