Another woman rescued after her husband locked her for almost a year in Delta State

A bike rider, who is yet to be identified has been arrested in Delta state for locking his wife named Onyinye in a room and torturing her. It was also said that he planned to kill her for ritual, as he was arrested with a female herbalist.

The suspect was arrested on Monday, 28th November in his house in Ozoro, Delta State. It was said that the suspect has locked his wife, whom he got married to in march in a room for more than 8 months and she had to bathe, sleep and ease herself in the same room.

It was learnt that the couple got married in March 2022 and she has been in captivity since then. It was also said that the suspect used a handkerchief to cover her mouth to prevent her from calling for help.

On the day the suspect was caught, he was beating his wife when a neighbour heard her screaming and raised an alarm, the suspect as usual tried to cover her mouth and also used a nylon bag to cover her head.

People who arrived at the scene broke into the house and that was the house the bike rider and the female herbalist were arrested.

Some people said that they did not even know that someone was in the house for more than 8 months because it did not have windows.
