Dr. Bawumia Has The Support Of The grassroots - Farouk Aliu Mahama

Bawumia to lead them due to his northern background and claims that he has not been in the party for a long time, Farouk Aliu Mahama shot down such claims, insisting that Dr.

Bawumia enjoys enormous support across the rank and file of the party who appreciate his efforts and will reward him.

“How can you say that about somebody who has been Vice President and has been nominated as a running mate four times running?

On what basis do you have a pre-qualification to say who is a party man and who is not a party man?” Farouk Aliu Mahama asked.

“He is a party man and he went through the test to become Vice President and has pushed the party and supported the President to win elections.”

The Yendi MP added that the NPP is a party which embraces competition, and no matter the numbers vying for the flagbearership, majority of NPP delegates believe in the hardworking Bawumia and what what he has done for the party.

“He never run away from his responsibilities when the times were hard,” Farouk noted.

“When we were going to court in 2012, he did a great assessment and defended the party.

Bawumia and he will go on and get about 70% of the November elections.”

Farouk Aliu Mahama added that the NPP will send a strong message by electing Dr.

Bawumia and prove to all that the NPP is truly a party that serves everyone regardless of ethnic and religious background, once one proves capable.

“The NPP will send a strong signal by electing Dr.

The NPP is a party that serves everybody, regardless of religion or where you come from and we will send a strong message that it is not about where you come from but if you are competent and prove yourself, you will be given the opportunity.”

The Yendi MP, who is the son of the late former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, said his father tried to be President of Ghana, and having been unable to make, his ‘soul and spirit” will be behind Dr.

Bawumia to succeed.

“My late father Alhaji Aliu Mahama, may his soul rest in peace, tried his bit to become the President of this country, he couldn’t make it and I believe that his soul and spirit is going to be behind Bawumia and in shaa Allah, Bawumia will be acceptable to all.”

“The name Bawumia is well known in the country.
