From September 2022 to February 2023, the corporation is owing more than GHS 5 billion, according to the managing director, Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama, Esq.
The majority of this debt is owed by the SOEs and MDAs.
This process has been made necessary by the multiple entities that owe the energy firm money.
The same destiny awaits a large number of other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and State Owned Companies (SOEs) that owe ECG a ton of money. As a result, the power retailer will undertake a significant revenue mobilization exercise from Monday, March 20, 2023, to Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Starting on March 20, 2023, these agencies will be replaced, and anyone who doesn’t pay their bill today will be subject to the same punishment as the Ministry of Energy, which had its power shut off until they paid all of their past due bills.
