Davido, the Afrobeats star, says getting married to Chioma Rowland, his wife, is the best decision he ever made.

In a recent interview with TheBeat ATL, the musician described his relationship with Chioma as the key to his happiness because “we are a good match.”

Davido said his wife is like an extension of him while praising the 28-year-old chef for her culinary skills.

The singer also disclosed that he has known Chioma for 20 years.

“Me and my wife, we grew up together. Basically, we went to school together,” he said.

“We met in school and we are just so used to each other. She is like a part of me.

“You definitely have to get somebody that understands you. And with me and my wife, we are just perfect. There is nothing that she does that is crazy. It is just a good match.

“First year in college, I met her. Best decision I’ve ever made ever. And since I’ve known her for almost 20 years… and she can cook.”

Davido met Chioma while studying music at Babcock University.

Their relationship came to light after he dedicated a song titled ‘Assurance’ to her in 2018.

In September 2019, the singer announced their engagement.

The pair, however, lost Ifeanyi, their three-year-old son, on October 30, 2022.

Reports surfaced shortly after Ifeanyi’s death that they had tied the knot.

On March 30, Davido confirmed that he and Chioma are married.

Photos from the couple’s private wedding ceremony surfaced on social media — at about the same time when Chioma marked her 28th birthday.
