Kidnappers shot one of us when he said he was sick - woman reveals

According to a news that was published by the Daily Trust Newspaper online this afternoon, it was reported that two people have been reportedly killed in a kidnap incident at the Ojuwo-Ocha village in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi state, yesterday, Friday.

According to the information that was given, it was made known that the incident was said to have taken place yesterday morning, when the chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Ofu Local Government, Hon. Yahaya Shagari, and five other persons were kidnapped by hoodlums, as it was reported that they were on their way from Lokoja, when their vehicle was attacked.
Findings revealed that immediately after the incident, youths, vigilantes and hunters in the area, mobilized themselves and went after the kidnappers, as they intercepted them at the bush of a village called Ajoo, in the same council.

During the rescue operation, five people were freed, while one of the victims and a kidnapper, were shot dead in the process.

While one of the rescued persons was talking to Daily Trust correspondent, she said, "The APC chieftain, gave us( 2 men and 3 women) a lift on our way to Aya, to attend an occasion from Itobe, and on our way, we were abducted by kidnappers.
Further talking, she said, "Kidnappers shot (killed) one of us when he said he was sick."
