Let's look at the youth of Ghana to see where the nation is heading

When discussing the direction of the new music scene on Rainbow Entertainment on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm with host Daniel Dadson, Ghanaian journalist Kafui Dey revealed that the time has come when Ghanaian musicians no longer sing about climate change and instead only talk about money and whine your waist.

He admitted to being perplexed as to why lyricists aren’t inspired to make songs that raise public awareness of injustice and other issues.

He asserted that our perceptions are shaped by the media we consume and that other countries have tough immigration regulations whereas Ghana has such lax ones.

He suggested that if we want to understand the way the country is heading, we need watch the current generation of young people and how they act.

The future of Ghana can be seen by looking at its youth. Ghana is progressing in that way. You can tell Ghana is headed in that direction by looking at the youth.

Kafui Dey continued, “I don’t hear musicians sing about the destruction of our ecosystem the way the Rastafarians do. Reggae music performers frequently sing about ethical issues. Other topics can be discussed besides your waist or whether to have sex. The reggae scene discusses fairness and equal rights. Our musicians need to play with more attentiveness, in my opinion. It shouldn’t always be about money and sex, she said.
