Marry The Right Person - Professor Appah Advises

Head of Linguistics, University of Ghana, Professor Clement Appah, has advised the youth to be cautious of who they marry.

Talking about his life after marriage, he stated that a lot of things changed about him
when he decided to settle down and he believes this is normal for every married person.

In an interview with Rev. Erskine on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard Series he said, “When you marry, a lot of things change especially when you marry the right person. You feel settled, accomplished and you also have someone you can always share ideas with, someone to always listen to you which is a good thing. Even the Bible says that it’s good to marry and personally marrying helped me alot”.

Speaking on the importance of marrying the right person he stated that per his experience, marrying the right person gives you peace of mind and also helps you accomplish everything you want to accomplish.

“So to find the right person to marry, you need to pray about it because it is very important. You don’t just marry anyone. Marriage is like going somewhere so you need to find a companion who can go with you.”

He went added that you cannot just decide to marry anyone hence one needs to know where they are going and be focused.

“When you find out where you’re going and find who you want to marry then you can tell whether or not the person you’re going to marry will help you get there. So if you find somebody who doesn’t share in your vision or dreams know that you might have problems because even when you find the right person there will be issues along the line so imagine when you find the wrong person it will only multiply the issues” he emphasized.

He advised people who are yet to marry to be careful because not everything that glitters is gold for this reason, although it is good that they find someone who is attractive, it should be the last thing rather, common grounds and interest is important before marriage.
