Medical tests men should undergo if they begin to experience erection problems

Erection problems can be a thorn in the flesh of any man considering marriage. The inability to have sex with penetration can result in a stigma around being unable to perform.

Worse, it might mean having difficulties in fathering a child, which is capable of destroying a man's self-esteem thus there is a need for one to take the condition very seriously.

According to Mayo Clinic, we are going to have a look at some of the medical tests you should undergo if you start experiencing erection problems.

1. Blood pressure tests - It is important to check your blood pressure, this is because high blood pressure is one of the main causes of Erection Problems in men. Men who have higher than normal blood pressure are twice as likely to have erectile dysfunction than healthy men.

2. Blood tests - are a useful diagnostic tool for all kinds of health problems. Erectile dysfunction (ED) can be a sign of heart disease, diabetes, or low testosterone, among others. All of these conditions can be serious but are treatable and need to be addressed. Blood tests can determine if you have high sugar, high cholesterol, or low testosterone.

3. Urine tests (urinalysis). Like blood tests, Analysis of urine can provide a variety of information, including information about protein, sugar and testosterone levels. Abnormal measurements of these substances can indicate diabetes, kidney disease or a testosterone deficiency, all of which can cause erection problems.

4. Heart checkups or examinations should also be done. The reason is that, In men with heart disease, the vessels that send blood to the penis can get clogged, just as other blood vessels can. Sometimes Erectile dysfunction can be a marker of vascular dysfunction and atherosclerosis, which results in reduced blood flow in your arteries.
