An 18-year-old kid from Zambia kills his cousin and then kills himself after she becomes pregnant.

An incestuous love affair between young cousins of Kitwe’s Chimwemwe Compound on the Copperbelt has ended in a gruesome death for the juvenile couple.

Emmanuel Sonta, an 18-year-old Grade 12 pupil of Kitwe Boys stabbed his cousin Elizabeth Phiri aged 17 in the neck killing her instantly after she revealed that the biology practical sessions she had been engaging in with him had resulted in the successful fertilization of her ovaries, making her pregnant.

Emmanuel (the 18 years old boy), decided to look close to home to sate his growing sexual cravings while living with his parents and going through adolescence, according to persons familiar with the story of the illicit affair.

He started a relationship with Elizabeth, a sixth-grade student at Kampemba Primary School and the sister child of his mother, and soon discovered that she was pregnant.
Elizabeth decided to tell her aunt about her pregnancy yesterday afternoon when Emmanuel was at the church.



Emmanuel's mother left the house to speak with family members to get advice on how to handle the problem, but when she wasn't there, Emmanuel came home to discover that his covert affair had been made public.
Emmanuel was so furious that he took his cousin inside the house, closed the doors, and started to fight. Emmanuel stabbed Elizabeth in the neck during the dirty fight, instantly killing her.

When Emmanuel realized what he had done, he turned the same knife on himself and repeatedly stabbed himself in the stomach.
