"Switching off my phone led me to 3 years in jail, a customer accused me of conning him" - the lady claims

Sylvia Wanjiku has been sentenced to three years in jail or a cash bail of one hundred thousand after her customer accused her of conning him forty-six thousand.

According to Sylvia, she had been a businesswoman for the longest time where she would sell cows online and also allowed her customers to pay in instalments.

The customer who accused her by the name Kipsang had been paying his cows in instalments and he had only managed to pay cash 46,000 within a year.

Sylvia claims that she travelled in Mombasa for a few days and her mobile phone went off for almost four days this is when Kipsang reported the incident to the police station and she was immediately arrested.

Sylvia claims she had already used the money and the court did not give her time to return the money and that's how she was jailed for three years or a cash bail of one hundred thousand.

She claims that being in jail has been the worst moment for her since she left her kids with no one to look after them. She claims that one of her kids dropped out of school and she cannot help him since she is in jail.

She is hopeful that one day she will be released and will be able to unite with her kids and family once again.

She has urged people to be very careful and avoid committing any crime because being in jail is the worst thing that can ever happen to a person.
